For those who have served our country, the VA offers free burial memorialization in the form of grave markers. This can commonly be seen as granite or marble flat markers or bronze flat markers. The Veterans Affairs website offers a variety of choices. Note that there are specific military requirements that will be considered with application for a headstone, marker, or memorialization.

All Faiths Cemetery Grave with Flag

Please follow the links below to access the applications. Once you have filled out the application, mail that and the necessary paperwork to the cemetery office. We will sign and submit to the VA as well as accept the marker when it arrives.

There is a $75.00 setting fee for veterans markers. Please include a check made out to “All Faiths Cemetery” alongside the application. When the stone or bronze is installed, you will receive an informational letter or phone call.

Grave Markers Burial Allowance

Per the General Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, “‘Flag etiquette,’ the requirement that a flag of the United States placed upon a grave to honor a veteran shall not touch the ground and shall not be allowed to remain if torn or faded or beyond a specified time period as determined by regulations of the United States Department of Defense, United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the governing body of the cemetery.”

Veterans Affairs Flag Etiquette

Flags will be removed after the Fourth of July to avoid deterioration and debris from mowing. All flags will be retired once collected.

Patrons are allowed to put out personal flags. We request that it is kept in good order and replaced as necessary. If the flag is damaged, you may bring the flag to the cemetery office to have us retire it. If the grounds crew notices a flag in poor condition, it will be removed and retired.
